POSITION SUMMARY


The Registered Nurse will be a part of the multidisciplinary team that offers crisis intervention and multidisciplinary assessments for adolescents who have complex and severe mental health issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  •  Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for 6 East patients and families
  •  Function in an “in charge” role when required
  •  Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  •  Participate in the development and implementation of inpatient programming
  •  Offer support/counselling to individual patients and their families
  •  Provide appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family
  •  Offer mentoring experience to students and new staff

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  •  Vulnerable Sector Check Essential
  •  Current College of Nurses registration Essential
  •  Current CPR Essential
  •  B.Sc. Nursing (Current or in Progress) Preferred
  •  Certificate in Mental Health Nursing Preferred
  •  Experience in paediatric psychiatry Preferred
  •  Excellent team work and interpersonal skills Essential
  •  Knowledge of mental health legislation, treatment modalities and experience with crisis intervention or other appropriate combinations of education and experience, along with the demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position, may be considered in lieu of stated education and experience. Essential
  •  Experience with Crisis Intervention Essential
  •  Bilingualism (French and English) Preferred

RÉSUMÉ DES FONCTIONS


Le ou la titulaire fera partie de l’équipe multidisciplinaire qui intervient dans les cas de crise et qui mène des évaluations multidisciplinaires des adolescents atteints de troubles mentaux graves et complexes.

DESCRIPTION DU TRAVAIL

 

  •  Apprécier, planifier, mettre en œuvre et évaluer les soins infirmiers à prodiguer aux patients du 6 Est et à leurs familles.
  •  Diriger l’intervention lorsque nécessaire.
  •  Participer au travail de l’équipe interdisciplinaire.
  •  Participer à l’élaboration et à la mise en œuvre des programmes offerts aux patients hospitalisés.
  •  Offrir du soutien et du counseling individuel aux patients et à leurs familles.
  •  Fournir une éducation adéquate aux patients et à leurs familles.
  •  Offrir des services de mentorat aux étudiants et aux nouveaux membres du personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  •  Vérification des antécédents en vue d’un travail auprès de personnes vulnérables Essentiel
  •  Inscription en règle à l’Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l’Ontario Essentiel
  •  Certificat valide de RCR Essentiel
  •  BScN Préférable
  •  Certificat en soins infirmiers de santé mentale Préférable
  •  Expérience de travail pour un programme de psychiatrie pédiatrique Préférable
  •  Bon entregent et excellent esprit d’équipe manifestes Essentiel
  •  Expérience de travail pour un programme de psychiatrie pédiatrique Préférable
  •  Connaissance des lois sur les troubles mentaux et les modalités de traitement ou on pourra examiner la possibilité d’accepter un agencement d’expérience et d’études accompagné de connaissances, de compétences et d’aptitudes manifestes à accomplir les fonctions du poste au lieu du niveau d’études et de l’expérience requis Essentiel
  •  Expérience de l’intervention en cas de crise Essentiel
  •  Bilinguisme (français et anglais) Préférable
