POSITION SUMMARY

In keeping with the mission statement of the hospital and the patient service unit, the nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients/families.

  • Effectively uses the nursing process
  • Practices according to the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Hospital, and the patient service unit
  • Provides appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family to promote or maintain wellness, and to achieve an optimal quality of life
  • Is accountable for maintaining competence while developing the quality of his/ her professional nursing practice

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
  • Current CPR Certification (Essential)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Minimum 2 years pediatric experience or other appropriate combinations of education and experience, along with the demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position, may be considered in lieu of stated education and experience (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrated culturally sensitive approach to nursing care (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential)
  • Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing (Preferred)
  • Bilingual (English/ French) (Preferred)

RÉSUMÉ DES FONCTIONS

Conformément à l’énoncé de mission de l’Hôpital et de l’Unité des services aux patients, l’infirmière ou l’infirmier a la responsabilité d’apprécier, de planifier, de mettre en œuvre et d’évaluer les soins à fournir à chaque patient et à sa famille.

  • Suivre efficacement le processus de soins infirmiers.
  • Exercer sa profession conformément aux normes fixées par l’Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l’Ontario, par l’Hôpital et par l’Unité des services aux patients.
  • Faire part de ses connaissances aux patients et à leurs familles afin de promouvoir et de maintenir leur bien être et de les aider à atteindre une qualité de vie optimale.
  • Assumer le maintien de ses compétences ainsi que le perfectionnement de sa pratique professionnelle des soins infirmiers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Adhésion à jour auprès de l’Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l’Ontario (Essentiel)
  • Vérification des antécédents en vue d’un travail auprès de personnes vulnérables (Essentiel)
  • Certificat valide de RCR (Essentiel)
  • Expérience d’au moins 2 ans en pédiatrie, ou on pourra examiner la possibilité d’accepter un agencement d’expérience et d’études accompagné de connaissances, de compétences et d’aptitudes manifestes à accomplir les fonctions du poste au lieu du diplôme et de l’expérience requis (Préférable)
  • Bon entregent et compétences manifestes de la communication (Essentiel)
  • Pratique des soins infirmiers manifestement sensible à la culture des patients et de leurs familles (Essentiel)
  • Compétences manifestes des soins axés sur la famille (Essentiel)
  • Baccalauréat en sciences infirmières (Préférable)
  • Bilinguisme (français et anglais) (Préférable)
